Kindness Preserved for Two Thousand Generations

From Generation to Generation
One of the 13 Middot of Hashem is that He is "נוצר חסד לאלפים-He preserves the kindnesses that we do for two thousand generations, and the Seforno explains, Hashem takes the good deeds that people do and uses them to help their children and grandchildren, even years later. Of course everybody gets rewarded for their own deeds, but Hashem is so kind, He even uses the deeds to benefit others as well.
Every Mitzvah we do is so valuable. They bring blessing to ourselves, our children and to the entire Klal Yisrael. The blessings are not only in the physical realms, they are spiritual as well. Very often we see children from irreligious families all of a sudden becoming inspired to grow in Torah and Mitzvot, and we wonder how it could happen. Then, when we look back, we find that they had religious grandparents or great-grandparents, and then we understand, it was the Zechut Avot that gave them the extra help.
All of our deeds are precious, and Hashem uses each one of them at the proper time to bring blessing and Siyata Dishamaya.
