Keeping Ears Open: Listening for Hashem’s Daily Messages

Chazal have taught us that there are two gifts in this world that are as difficult for a person to receive as it was for Hashem to split the Yam Suf – getting married and earning a livelihood. One of the explanations of these statements is that Hashem wants to conceal Himself as much as possible in this world. There are times that He has to be exposed, like when He split the Sea. But there as well, He was able to leave room for people to think that it was caused by nature. When it comes to parnasa and shidduchim, they are the areas in which Hashem has to expose Himself the most. There as well, He leaves room for people to think that nature took its course. But if anyone honestly analyzes it, he will see Hashem so clearly in those areas.
