Gaining by Righteousness: Lessons in Lashon Hara
Don’t Give Up on the Segula
The Bneh Yissachar writes that doing the mitzvah of lighting the menorah properly is a segula to be blessed with children. And right after the lighting is the best time to make a tefila because it is a time of chesed and rachamim. When it comes to segulot, people may say, “We have tried so many of them, but we have not been helped yet. If it is a segula that is rooted in doing something as an avodat Hashem, like being careful in a certain mitzvah, or praying at a certain time, then the best advice would be to try it again. Just because a person didn’t receive what he wanted yet, doesn’t mean the segula didn’t help. It’s also possible that the segula wasn’t done properly the first time.
If a segula didn’t work yet, try it again.
