Shabbat Shira: The Song of the Heart and the Sea

The Great Zechut!
It says in the Tana Diveh Eliyahu Raba (16) that because Noach did so much gemilut chasadim in his lifetime, Hashem chose him to be the vehicle to do chesed on the teva for an entire year, as well as for the ultimate chesed of enabling the world to continue. And from here we learn, מגלגלים זכות על ידי זכאי– Hashem gives the chance to earn merits to people who already have proven themselves before by doing other good deeds. Chesed is a great zechut and to be someone who is presented with an opportunity to do chesed requires merits.
To be given a chesed opportunity is a great zechut and Hashem carefully chooses who gets which opportunity.
