Prayer and Movement: The Etiquette of Alenu Lishabe’ach

We don’t understand the ways of Hashem, but we know everything He does is only to help us. People think that if a person is going through hard times it means Hashem is angry with him, but the pasuk says just the opposite, ki et asher ye’ehav Hashem yochiach – the ones who Hashem loves the most are the ones that He chastises. People think if someone asks us for help or for charity and we comply with their request, we are doing that person the greatest favor, but in reality, the one asking is doing a greater favor for the giver than the giver is doing for him.
We don’t understand the ways of Hashem, but we should feel at ease at all times knowing that He is always doing exactly what’s best for us.
